For any dieting program to be successful, we should know the key factors which could make it a success. Following are the factors or conditions, that should be considered, before choosing any diet.

To lose weight on a permanent basis, you have to attack the core of the problem. In this case, it is the fat tissues, which make up your extra weight.

b) Sustainable Results: To measure the success of any diet, results should be measured on the long term basis, rather than short one. Do you know that most of the times, initial weight loss is attributable to the water weight.

c) Do Not Regain the Lost Weight: It is a common experience to regain the lost weight, once you come out of a specific diet. The main reason is that you no longer follow that diet and in the process your old eating habits return. Other Important reason, which is overlooked is that in long term your body becomes more resistant towards the diet you are following.

Therefore, in Nutshell, any good diet should teach the individual to imbibe the good eating habits in diet, so that he or she can maintain his or her weight.

Also, if any diet dictates, any drastic change in your food consumption, it should be carried out under the supervision of a doctor.

e) Weight Loss without starvation. It is common belief, that to lose weight you have to eat less. What people have to understand is that it is quality eating, that they have to focus on rather than the quantum of it.

Let me also explain, why eating less will not work most of the time. See, when you eat less, body notices this trend, and start disposing only the amount of calories you intake. Therefore, before choosing any diet, you should ensure that you are not starving.
