Hair Loss Normal For Everyone?

We have all noticed extra hair in our combs and brushes or in the sink. This occurs naturally on a daily basis. Is hair loss normal for everyone? The answer is most definitely yes. Adults and children all experience hair loss. It is absolutely a normal fact of life. There are people who experience excessive hair loss and some of the reasons for this are as follows.

Sometimes when a person has surgery or an extensive illness, excessive hair will fall out. It usually happens about three or four months after the event. It is temporary and is caused by the stress that the illness had on your body.

Another factor that may cause hair loss is hormones. Hormonal changes can be caused from thyroid disease or an imbalance. These problems can be corrected with medication. Once the hormonal levels are balanced, the hair will stop falling out.

Different types of infections can lead to hair loss. Children can be prone to fungal infections of the scalp. This can be treated easily with anti-fungal medication and is only temporary. Hair grows back to its normal cycle in about 2-6 years.

Some medications are very harsh and also cause hair loss. Anticoagulants, medication for gout, and birth control pills can cause this to occur. Once you stop taking the medication, this will improve. Chemotherapy drugs are also a factor in excessive hair loss.

Everyone loses some hair on a daily basis. There are medical factors that may cause your hair to fall out. Some people will experiencing a receding hairline or baldness as they get older. Your doctor can advise you about hair loss and the treatment options that are available.
