How To Get Rid Of Body Hair

By Kate Lewis

Most people some time or the other had to deal with unwanted hair and have tried several techniques for hair removal. A number of factors such as the location and density of hair growth, your skin sensitivity and your skin type can determine the hair removal technique most appropriate for you.

The most common means of getting rid of unwanted hair is shaving. It is inexpensive and effective, but it is temporary and has to be done on a routine basis to maintain a hair-free look. For instance, men usually shave their facial hair daily. Shaving is also suitable for freeing body parts such as chest or legs of unwanted hair.

Waxing body hair is another option. It is a complicated process, which usually cannot conveniently be done in the house on your own. The benefit of waxing is that the removal of hair is done from its base and therefore, it doesn't grow back for about two to three weeks, giving you a longer duration of freedom from unwanted hair. But remember that waxing is a painful method and must not be done on sensitive body parts.

Application of hair removal lotion is yet another often used method, and since its application is not complicated, you can do it on your own. These creams do not hurt, but they are not as effective as waxing and hair reappears faster. The skin can also react to the components of the cream resulting in appearance of ugly rashes.

Those people who have denser hair on some parts of the body than others can opt for hair transplant, in which hair is taken out from the places of denser hair growth and planted on the less hairy parts. This is a complex procedure and must be applied only in case there are no other options.

Lastly, laser hair removal treatment can be opted for, but it is very expensive. The main benefit of laser treatment is its permanent results. However, in order to avoid skin damage and blemishes, the treatment must be done only by skilled experts.
